Brent Livermore

By 1992, aged 16 years, after state representation "Livers" gained his first selection in an Australian Team at the National Championships.

In 1996 he was chosen for the Australian under 20's team to tour Europe and in the same year gained his first International Senior Cap in Pakistan in front of a 60,000 strong crowd.

In 1998, his focus and goal was to become a permanent member of the Australian Senior Team and to represent Australia at the Olympic Games in 2000.

"The Olympic Games in Sydney 2000, was a fantastic achievement and an opportunity of a lifetime. I was living my dream".

Brent had a successful tournament as one of Australia's most influential players, but in front of a 15,000 home crowd, worldwide viewers and team mates, he was to take a penalty stroke in a penalty shoot-out. This was saved and the game was lost.

Like all champions, Brent bounced back. After the 2000 Olympics, it was time to look towards Athens 2004. Part of his preparation has been time spent abroad playing two hockey seasons in the Dutch National League and ther hard work paid off with Brent and his Kookaburra team mates lifting GOLD in Athens 2004.
